Banish lower back and neck pain with a high-tech solution from the Low Back Clinic
It used to be the case that people with chronic back and neck pain had to suffer in silence while taking handfuls of medication and/or paying for rounds of acupuncture, massage, physiotherapy or chiropractic care, eventually facing the possibility of painful surgery.
Now a new solution is revolutionizing the treatment of back and neck pain by fixing the causes instead of just the symptoms. The DRX 9000 machine at the Low Back Clinic in Etobicoke specializes in treating severe neck and lower back pain without the need for surgery and within only 20 visits!
There are no side effects and the process is painless. Each session lasts 30 minutes and the recommended course of treatment is four sessions a week for five weeks. Patients can even continue to work during the five-week period if they wish, and successful patients will not require surgery or have to use pain medication after being treated.
The Low Back Clinic specializes in treating neck and lower back pain caused by moderate to advanced arthritis and disc herniations.
Dr. Richard Liem, the Clinic’s director, states that “the success of treatment is due to the precision of the treatments and the mechanism of how the disc problem is corrected.” Each session will focus specifically (80-90%) on the problematic disc. For treating herniations, the machine creates a vacuum within the disc, which then sucks material back into position, healing the disc and removing the pressure from the nerves. For arthritis sufferers, this same vacuum effect will rebuild the disc by drawing in fluid and nutrients to rehydrate it.
Dr. Liem has been treating back pain at the clinic for seven years and says that the DRX 9000 machine has around a 90 per cent success rate on suitable candidates. “We’ve had people in wheelchairs able to walk out of the clinic after their sessions,” he says. “People are very, very happy with this treatment and are amazed that it only takes 20 visits despite having pain for years.”
Using the machine is painless, says Dr. Liem. “Despite how much pain they are in when they come into the clinic, people often fall asleep while being treated. This is why there are no buzzers or bells that go off when the treatment is over, it just quietly and gently turns off.”
Dr. Liem will perform a full examination and consultation to all potential patients to determine whether or not they are a suitable candidate for treatment. This includes a computerized scan of the area to determine the severity of the problem, full neurological and orthopedic testing and on-site X-rays if necessary.
The Low Back Clinic will be expanding to two new clinics being planned for Vaughan later this year and Whitby.
The Low Back Clinic is open Mon-Thurs 9-7 (closed 1-3). Although no referral is necessary, people must call and book their appointments in advance. The clinic can also accommodate emergencies.
